Certified Hospitality Department Trainer (CHDT®)

To earn the CHDT, you must complete the Trainer Development Program, pass the CHDT exam, and be a hospitality employee with job responsibilities that include training individuals for functional skills within your department.

How to Apply

To apply, you need to submit an application after attending a facilitated workshop or upon completing the web-based version of the Trainer Development Program.

Attend a facilitated group training session for the Training Development Program or individually complete the online version of the program.

Exam

The CHDT exam has 50 multiple-choice questions that you must complete within two hours. You must achieve a minimum score of 70 percent to earn the CHDT designation. If you do not score at least 70 percent, you can retake the exam up to two additional times at a cost of $25 per retake.
